KNOCKOUT was founded by Jeremy Halinen and Brett Ortler.

Jeremy Halinen is cofounder and coeditor of Knockout Literary Magazine. What Other Choice, winner of the 2010 Exquisite Disarray First Book Poetry Contest, is his first full-length collection of poems. His poems appear or will in such journals as Cimarron Review, Court Green, Crab Creek Review, the Los Angeles Review, Poet Lore, and Sentence. He resides in Seattle.

Brett Ortler holds an M.F.A. from Eastern Washington University, where he edited Willow Springs and taught.  He is cofounder and coeditor of Knockout Literary Magazine. His work appears or is forthcoming from Permafrost, Rattle, Redactions, The South Dakota Review, Nimrod and online at McSweeney's, among other places. He blogs occasionally at Bark. Brett lives in the Twin Cities and works as an editor at Adventure Publications.
