KNOCKOUT was founded by Jeremy Halinen and Brett Ortler.

Jeremy Halinen (MFA, Eastern Washington University) is coeditor and cofounder of Knockout Literary Magazine. At EWU, he served as poetry editor of Willow Springs. His chapbook Fragments of Water (2003, St. Andrews College Press) won the Alan Bunn Memorial Award. His work recently appeared or is forthcoming in Arroyo Literary Review; Best Gay Poetry 2008; Dos Passos Review; Pontoon: an anthology of Washington State Poets, Number Ten; Quarter After Eight; and Rio Grande Review.

Brett Ortler recently graduated with an M.F.A. from Eastern Washington University, where he edited Willow Springs and taught.  He is co-founder and co-editor of Knockout Literary Magazine. His own work appears in Rattle, The South Dakota Review, Ascent, Nimrod and online at McSweeney's, among other places. His new series "Letters To The President" was recently featured on MPR's website.
